In the Icelandic sources, Hunding is the father of Helgi
Hundingsbane who appears in Volsunga saga
and in the poemsHelgakviða Hundingsbana I
and Helgakviða Hundingsbana II in the
Poetic Edda.
In Richard Wagner's opera Die Walküre (The
Valkyrie) in Der Ring des Nibelungen. Hunding is a conflation of
Siggeir in Volsunga saga and and Hunding in
two of the Helgi poems in the Poetic
Edda.
