Lived in London. Studied at Leigh’s Central Practical School of Art and
the Royal Academy Schools. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Portland
Gallery, and Society of British Artists. Briefly a member of the Hogarth
Club, but was removed due to his differences with the Pre-Raphaelites.
Married Henrietta Heaton on 23 August 1862. Contributed to London
Society and The Quiver. Member of the Savage Club. Friends with James
McNeil Whistler, George Du Maurier, and Edward Poynter. Biographical
