Description: Trish Baer based this needle felting on Charles
E.
Brock’s illustration in the 1930 edition
of Annie
Keary's retelling of Norse mythology,
The Heroes of Asgard (1857). The book is
divided into nine stories beginning with the Creation Myth and ending with Ragnarök. The stories are further divided
into parts which have illustrated headers and illustrated capital
letters. This header illustration in Story V: "Iduna's Apples" for Part
II: “The Winged Giant“ depicts Loki
carrying stolen pies past a foxes' den. The foxes praise him and call him
"king of thieves." (135) See Brock’s original illustration here.
